Member Zone Update: 3 September

It’s been a while since my last update, and this one is unfortunately for the same reason, that the website has once again been experiencing problems.

The key issues are that:

  • You may find you appear to be logged off when you are actually logged on. If you find this is the case please visit one of the pages in the Member Zone and you should find this does show you logged on. From there you can select My Courses, My Groups etc from the left hand, vertical menu.
  • More seriously perhaps, at least one of you have experienced this issue impacting your course access as well.

 

My apologies for this issue, and also for being rather slow in updating you about it, but I had though several times that the problem had been sorted, only for it to return.

The issue has also led to an additional problem in that I’ve not been able to upload any new video lessons into the system, as I’ve been having to regularly roll back to a previous backup which means I’ve been losing anything I’ve added. My apologies for those of you who have been waiting for new content too.

 

I would like to brief you about the nature of the problem, but to be honest, I still don’t really understand what’s going on. It all started with an automatic WordPress update about two weeks ago which seemed to move us onto a different php version to our main plugins, LearnDash and BuddyBoss. We’ve been in regular touch with our WordPress host, GoDaddy, and BuddyBoss, trying various things, but so far haven’t landed on a solution.

I keep on thinking I have – eg yesterday we installed a BuddyBoss problem which seemed to get rid of the issue but it’s returned once again today.

I don’t know what else I can say – other than that, whilst recognising the website does experience ongoing problems, this is the first time since April that we’ve experienced serious issues. And that I am doing what I can to resolve them.
